Our Vincent HRD Comet has been raced for at least 30 seasons in the 46 years since it graced Cadwell park at a VOC meeting in 1965.It may have won a few races in that time but it certainly wont win any Concours Competitions.
We will be campaigning the HRD in the 'British Historic Racing Championships' upto 1949 class for the 2012 season...

Over the years this bike has undergone many changes and improvements but it is basically the same bike as seen here first raced by Tim in the 60s. Tim continued to race the HRD on and off untill the late 1980's until Ben was old enough to compete on the bike, 2012 will be Bens 22nd year racing the Vincent.

The bike currently features a 572cc (90x90) petrol engine with twin spark bth electronic ignition, Bob Newby multi-plate dry clutch/belt drive and a modified Burman 4-speed gearbox.

For 2012 the bike will be developed further yet again, a period float chamber is on order from the Gardner Carburettor company so we can have another go with the gardner carb and a revised motor bringing it back down to the standard 500cc. A new head is being made by Goddens via Vincent Spares Company.
We decided to go back to 500cc rather than the 572cc it has run for the last few years mainly due to the championship point scoring system which favours the smaller capacity machines.
